Hair Tips From The Maharishi

1. If you make it a habit to straighten your hair prepare for split ends; your hair wont grow as fast or may even not grow at all, and you run  the risk of making your hair brittle and thin. A good alternative is brushing a bit of straightening products into it in the morning.

     2. Having beautiful curls is no huge chore if you use a little moose and some shaping milk. Apply the products to your hair at night.  Tie your hair up in a tight bun for about 12 hours. When you wake up,  unravel your locks and style.

   3. Dont use gels. They make your hair look clumped into sticks or strands of string.

Dear Maharishi:

I saw the original "Hair" opera in Chicago in the 70's. This was the nude version. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Wondering if you ever saw it? Just cut off 17 inches of long straight lifeless hair and donated to "Locks of Love" which is affiliated with St. Jude's Children's Hospital here in Memphis, Tn. They use it to make wigs for the children undergoing chemo that lose their hair. Hoping the Maharishi of Hair might pass that info along. When you go to Salon to get at least 10 inches of your hair cut off and donate it to Locks of Love, the haircut is and MUST be free and the Salon should know where to send it and give you a donation receipt for your hair donation. If they need the info on where to send the Locks, tell them to email me. Thanks for passing this along and helping out the cancer children at Danny Thomas' "St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Memphis, Tn." Peace and love. Kashmira

Dear Maharishi:

I used Krud Kutter to wash my hair, now it is extremely damaged. I tried every commercial conditioner I could find. What should I do?

How do I get a nice, and natural shine to my hair, and what's the best way to experiment with different hair colors without making it perment?

comments: In my opinion, salon applied highlights are the best choice for 'hair color'. Otherwise, the roots grow out and it looks horrible in a week. Plus that and what do you want green hair for, anyway? When I was a kid, using dilute vinegar as a rinse after washing made hair very shiny. But hell, look at me now, 35 years later. You might want to re-think that technique. TheInquiringEye

Dear Maharishi:

this is not a question, more of a comment. Having split ends does not stop your hair from growing, or slow down. Thats just a myth. Your hair doesn't grow from the ends, but the root. Your hair will always grow no matter what. The only thing that split ends will do is keep breaking off the hair, which will make the hair really unhealthy, and you'll have to cut more off when getting a hair cut.

Dear
 split ends ,
Thats not true; hair grows from hormones that trigger it with healthy roots. Hair Dye and other coloring things make the roots damaged which make the hair grow slowly or stop.

comments: I agree that split ends do not stop hair from growing. Rather as the damaged hair breaks off at the ends, you get the ILLUSION that it's not growing. TheInquiringEye

Dear Maharishi:

okay, I have naturally straight hair, and unfortunatly naturally thin hair, all of my frineds tell me how lucky i am, but i hate it! it slides out of everything, and i've tried every thickening thing out there and got no results what do i do?
signed,chanel

Dear
 chanel ,
Well if its naturally thin then you cant just make it thick but you can use Thickening shampoos and conditioners from Tresseme and brush the mousse in with your fingers and put it up at night in the morning brush it out and flup our hair over and brush the back... I guarantee a thicker appearance
