HCRHS School Property Covered With Unsalted, Treacherous Ice

Flemington, NJ

Since high property taxes fuel the cost of education, people might just be wondering how their children are faring in the ice which is left unsalted at school.

That’s right.  At Hunterdon Regional Central High School in Flemington NJ, pathways and parking lots were covered in black ice. According to my children, (who attend the school), ice slicked pathways are routine, especially in the area which houses the ‘trailers’, (special units for unmanageable and punished students).

There’s more. I) saw children walking to school along Junction Rd. (which turns into Walter Foran Blvd), falling into oncoming heavy traffic because of unsalted roads.

I wonder just how prevalent this problem is amongst area budget-crunched schools. Perhaps rather than raising salaries of teachers who only work for half of a year, we need to be taking care of our kids, first.

UPDATE:

1 week later, no change. Is it that we don't notice, or is it that we dont care?
